White

What Is White Screen?

A simple full-screen white display. Test for dead pixels and dirt, use for ambient lighting, or download as a minimalist wallpaper.

How to Use White Screen

  1. The white background loads immediately. No setup needed.
  2. Hit the full-screen button top right to fill your entire display.
  3. Browse the palette on the left to try different shades of white.
  4. Want a wallpaper? Set a resolution in the left-hand menu and click Download Image.

Why Is a White Screen Useful?

  • Check for dead pixels: Dead pixels show up as tiny colored dots against a pure white background. Set up #FFFFFF as full-screen and scan slowly from left to right. For the reverse test, try a black screen.
  • Clean your screen: Dust, fingerprints, and smudges are way easier to spot on a bright white display. Use full-screen and a soft cloth.
  • Use as a light source: Turn your phone or tablet into a makeshift flashlight. A full white screen puts out a surprising amount of light.

Did You Know?

Pure white light on your screen appears when red, green, and blue pixels are at full brightness. In other words, white activates every subpixel on your display, which is why a white screen works as a pixel checker.
